This position reports to the Design Manager and Assistant Managers
Job Responsibilities
- Consistently create floral designs incorporating effective and innovative use of colors, floral materials, vessels and accent materials, while meeting established criteria for Winston Flowers design styles and cost of goods
- Day to day responsibilities will be dependent on business needs including, but not limited to event design and installation, as well as participating in corporate, residential and custom design and installation
- Develop a working understanding of the basic Winston Styles of design and accurately create gift line designs based on established standards
- Apply proper flower handling fundamental techniques
- Meet and consistently maintain required standards of production
- Successfully interpret clients’ wishes on custom design orders
- Possible client contact and sales responsibility
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years hands-on custom floral design experience in a high-end, high volume floral shop or design studio is required
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team-oriented environment
- Proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

This position reports to the Design Manager and Assistant Manager
Job Responsibilities
- Effectively upholds the service standards of Winston Flowers, driving sales by using a consultative approach to create customized product presentations to wedding and special events clients
- Conceptualize and execute all design projects; designs incorporating effective and innovative use of colors, floral materials, vessels and accent materials, while meeting established criteria for Winston Flowers aesthetic and cost of goods
- Coordinate efforts of the production design and delivery support team to uphold Winston Flowers design and service standards at event setup
- Work cooperatively with Events Coordinators to compose clear and concise client proposals, communicate updates and proposal revisions and other pertinent information to ensure seamless service to client
- Partner with select third party vendors for overall event design concepts; linens, lighting, rental items, etc.
- Prepare hard goods and floral product needs and submit to Buyers and Inventory in a timely manner to manage product needs; responsible for maintaining company standards in cost of goods
- Work with Operations Manager to plan for event logistics and labor needs
- Maintain timely correspondence during sales process with client and vendors, and responsible for follow-up communication to clients to ensure complete satisfaction
- Working cooperatively with the Director of Special Events and sales teams to build new client relationships and developing prospects through networking and maintaining relationships with event and party planners, catering managers, etc.
Candidate Attributes
- Previous sales and significant hands-on floral design experience in the events industry is required
- Proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs by utilizing a consultative approach to build rapport and present key selling points while focusing on the client’s needs
- Demonstrated ability to achieve established goals and deliver on high expectations, with exceptional follow-through and time management skills

- Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record free of violations

Maintenance Associate – Full-Time; Greenwich, CT
Maintenance Associate – Full-Time; Greenwich, CT
Job Responsibilities
- Process floral product and put in appropriate container for storage or display
- Ensure that public and work areas are clean and easy to work in by performing tasks that include, but not limited to, emptying trash barrels, sweeping, mopping, cleaning rest rooms and windows, checking and replacing light bulbs as needed
- Organize, rotate and clean floral cooler, including bleaching on a regular basis
- Stock and organize shelves in work and storage areas; ensure vases and other hard goods are clean and in saleable condition
- Ensure cash wrap is always fully stocked with packaging supplies
- Unload and unpack floral, plant and hard goods shipments from Boston Design Studio
- Prepare cash and carry mixed bouquets on a daily basis
- Make client deliveries and assist in event and party setups as needed
- Assist manager and staff with other special projects as business needs require
Candidate Attributes
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- High level of self-motivation coupled with the ability to take direction as needed
- Previous experience in nursery or floral industry is desired, but not necessary
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
