    Retail Sales Associate – Full-Time; Wellesley, Newton and Boston

    We have an immediate opportunity to join an established retailer with a 70 year history as Boston’s premier purveyor of the fine art of floristry and custom accessories, and our newest addition in Greenwich, CT. We are seeking a sales professional with previous experience in luxury retail or hospitality with an innate sense and passion for interior and floral design. We provide unique opportunities for enthusiastic and creative individuals to work a boutique setting with world class product, providing exceptional service to our clientele. Experience in the floral or horticultural industry is a plus -- confidence, an outgoing personality and a passion for design and providing an exemplary customer experience are essential!


    Job Responsibilities
    • Provide outstanding customer service and contribute to sales volume growth; resolve customer questions and concerns in The Winston Way
    • Assist clients with floral and accessory product selection and design floral and plant product based on skill and experience level 
    • Take an active role in maintaining and developing existing and new client relationships, including following up as needed to ensure complete satisfaction
    • Daily set up and break down of store including physical transportation of sidewalk and floral displays
    • Responsible for accurate product pricing and loss prevention
    • Contribute to the consistent maintenance and refreshment of product merchandising

    Candidate Attributes
    • Previous experience in luxury hospitality, design and/or retail industries is required
    • Professional or personal experience in floriculture, horticulture, and/or design is preferred
    • Proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs 
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • High level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
    • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

    Job Responsibilities

    • In partnership with the Store Manager, lead, motivate and develop a diverse team by mentorship and personal example; create and promote a productive and inspiring work atmosphere through ongoing coaching and training, including conducting staff performance reviews
    • Assist clients with floral and accessory product selection and design floral and plant product based on skill and experience level as needed
    • Act as strong presence on the sales floor and lead the retail team by example to maximize sales through sales leadership and unwavering attention to standards
    • Drive sales performance of the store by fostering existing client relationships and building new relationships
    • Acts as a close assistant and support to the Store Manager, ensuring proper systems, best practices and company standards are consistently upheld by self and staff; responsible for overall operations of the store in the manager’s absence 
    • Participate in daily set up and break down of store including physical transportation flower and merchandise displays
    • Keyholder responsibilities: opening/closing the store, z-outs and cash management
    • Perform administrative tasks including staff scheduling, facilitating meetings and processing weekly payroll


    Candidate Attributes

    • Previous sales supervisory experience in luxury retail or hospitality industry required
    • Professional or personal experience in floriculture, horticulture, and/or design is preferred but not required
    • Demonstrated experience driving business and building teams, with a proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
    • High level of enthusiasm and self-motivation

    Job Responsibilities

    • Effectively upholds the service standards of Winston Flowers, driving sales by using a consultative approach to create customized product presentations to residential, corporate, retail, wedding and special events clients 
    • Conceptualize and execute design projects; designs incorporating effective and innovative use of colors, floral materials, vessels and accent materials, while meeting established criteria for Winston Flowers aesthetic and cost of goods
    • Working cooperatively with the Store Manager and sales team to build new client relationships and developing prospects through networking, building and maintaining relationships with residential clients, interior designers, event and party planners, catering managers, venues, etc. 
    • Perform on-site visits and client consultations to conceptualize custom floral design ideas for commercial and residential properties as needed
    • In cooperation with the sales team, maintain timely correspondence and compose clear and concise client proposals, to ensure seamless service to client during every stage of the process, including follow-up communication to clients to confirm complete satisfaction
    • Working closely with the Winston Flowers Visual team, collaborate on day-to-day merchandising and visual displays for Greenwich retail space, including consistently displaying specialty design throughout the space 
    • Coordinate efforts of the design and delivery team to uphold Winston Flowers design and service standards at installations and event setups 
    • In partnership with the Store Manager, sales and design teams, participate in networking and community building events such as in store or on-site floral demonstrations
    • As needed, prepare hard goods and floral product needs and submit to Buyers and Inventory in a timely manner to manage product needs within company standards of cost of goods

    Candidate Attributes

    • Significant hands-on floral design experience in a luxury high-volume studio or retail floral environment is required
    • Previous successes in driving business and building teams, with a proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet and exceed client needs
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve established goals and deliver on high expectations, with exceptional follow-through and time management skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities simultaneously and resolve issues independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required
